Ron is a co-founder of Abeles and Hoffman, joining the firm in 1979.  In his current role as a shareholder, he plays an integral role in the firm’s day-to-day functions, as well as its strategic decisions.  Specifically, Ron is responsible for firm management, marketing, employee hiring and staff training. In addition to his management duties, Ron assists firm clients by providing accounting and auditing, taxation, financial consulting, and merger and acquisition services.  He serves organizations across a wide range of industries, including distribution, service companies, sports franchises, manufacturing, real estate and construction.

Prior to joining the firm, Ron served for seven years at Touche Ross & Co. as an audit supervisor.  With more than 43 years of experience in the accounting and consulting field, he has assisted clients with a broad range of technical and advisory issues.  Specifically, Ron once suggested to a company that they consider the use of a research and development tax credit, which created a net tax savings of nearly $10,000,000.  In addition, he worked closely with a client and its management team to suggest a sliding-scale compensation program.  This resulted in a gross profit increase of 4% on sales of $30,000,000.

Ron is a respected professional within the regional marketplace.  Over the years, he has served as a guest speaker on numerous occasions, including giving a presentation at Enterprise Bank University on “Squeezing Profits from Your Closely Held Business.”

Initially, Ron merely wanted to be exposed to a variety of businesses while trying to assess the direction of his future career.  As it turned out, he discovered that he thoroughly enjoyed the accounting profession and its unique challenges and opportunities it offers.  Today, Ron attributes his success to his ability to encourage a collaborative approach among the firm.  In addition, he credits being surrounded by a core group of professionals who are motivated to serve the firm’s clients.

Ron grew up in New York City and Northern New Jersey.  He currently resides in Creve Coeur, Missouri with his wife, Bette.  Together they have four children.  In his free time, Ron enjoys taking walks and traveling, especially throughout the U.S., Europe and Israel.
